Best Video Games 2010: Western

Holiday shopping for the gamer in your life? Well, you're in luck, as this has been an awesome year to be an adult gamer. No matter what genre of games you're into, this year had several huge releases. Here are my picks for the best games of 2010.
Best Western Game - Ever
Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360, PS3) – My vote for Game of The Year is Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. While it can be described as Grand Theft Auto in the Old West, in that it shares GTA's humor, excellent storytelling and violence, RDR is also a story with morals and heart.
You play as former outlaw John Marsden. Government agents have taken your family and aren't giving them back until you help them take down the gangsters you used to run with.
RDR is a nostalgic homage to the America of yesterday, while seeming somehow relevant today. Like GTA, RDR is an open world game, meaning that you don't have to follow the missions in any particular order, and there's tons of side missions. And while some open world games can get boring without a tight linear structure to drive you forward, RDR's beautiful, wide-open vistas, and flourishing wildlife invite you to experience the world around you in a way that few games can. Many gamers have confessed to simply hopping on their horses and taking in the scenery, the game's world is THAT realistic.
Multiplayer in RDR is also a blast! Compete in team missions, hunt wildlife, or simply explore the entire open world in free roam, where you can posse up with teammates or go it alone.
And should you (somehow) get bored with the game, be sure to check out the downloadable add-on game, Undead Nightmare (which is also sold as a stand-alone game in the stores), which adds zombies to the mix!
