Nokia Symbian brand liquid

Strategy - If the operating system is still evolving, particularly for devices for emerging markets, Nokia has quietly removes his name.Symbian, the operating system history of Nokia, is no more. Or at least as a brand. Visitors to the corporate website of Nokia have noticed a reference to his name has disappeared. What set the stage for a final disappearance already well under way? Not yet. Nokia builds a lot of Symbian, including the terminals for emerging countries that still generates a significant share of sales in Finland.
Nokia Belle
New versions have even been launched (latest: Symbian Belle) for mid-range smartphones. But now it will take the name Nokia Belle.
Recall that the management of Symbian had already been transferred to Accenture, the first step in a withdrawal. Still, Stephen Elop, the CEO of the company, promised in May that Nokia will provide updates to Symbian "at least until 2016." This promise is she holding?
Elop confirmed that support for applications and customer service results. The Finnish giant has already said he will remain master of the choice of design and functionality of Symbian, Accenture will be responsible to perform.
Confirm those comments that we collected last April. "Many products will come out next year, with other versions much more innovative. It was the heavy in preparation," noted Olivier Lagréou, Group Head Marketing Products at Nokia.

But the liquidation of the Symbian brand is symptomatic. It illustrates the willingness of Nokia to turn a page in its history to focus on its new challenges, especially in value-added smartphones run by Windows Phone whose first models have just been launched.
