The meter showed Telethon 14,186,625 euros in pledges Saturday, December 3 at noon, an amount slightly lower than last year at the same time, according to the press service of the AFM (French Association against myopathies) which organizes the event with France Televisions.
Some 200,000 volunteers are mobilized for this 25th edition, sponsored by the actor Gad Elmaleh, who started Friday night for thirty hours of live entertainment and 25,000 throughout France.
To make a donation, the public can call the 36 37, connect to the Internet, or send a check to the AFM. Last year, more than 90 million had been collected, a figure down from the previous year.
